Eimer Philbin Bowman

Eimer Philbin Bowman (MB MSc MRCPsych) is a consultant psychiatrist in private practice, with special interests in Asperger syndrome presenting in adulthood, and in women's mental health. Prior to specialising in psychiatry, she completed a postgraduate research degree in psychology in TCD. A rotation in adult psychiatry, included an external graduate programme in Behavioural Psychotherapy at the Institute of Psychiatry. Following a move to Child and Family Psychiatry, during which she was visiting lecturer to the school of Clinical Speech and Language Studies in TCD, she became consultant to the Gheel service for autistic adults. Publication topics include the sexual and contraceptive behaviour of single Irish women, the treatment of vaginismus, Asperger syndrome and autism.
