Gill Riordan

By Gill Riordan. I began my working life as a social worker in a psychiatric hospital in Dublin, Ireland, in 1969. As part of my work, I would take these detailed case histories at an out-patient clinic which made me very aware of the different needs of the people attending the clinic. However, they were all put on the same 5 drugs no matter what their age, situation or need. There was no talking time. That was what spurred me on to my next step – to find training in psychotherapy.
