Seán Ó Lúing (1917-2000) was a prolific Irish writer, translator and historian born in Ballyferriter, Co. Kerry. After serving as chief translator for the houses of the Oireachtas for forty years, he authored numerous significant biographies of Irish historical figures and works on Celtic studies.
