Stanley van der Ziel is the author of John McGahern and the Imagination of Tradition (Cork University Press, 2015). He is also the editor of John McGahern's collected non-fiction, published as Love of the World: Essays (Faber & Faber, 2009). He has taught Irish and English literature at a number of universities in Ireland, and is currently the Blair Chair Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute of Irish Studies, University of Liverpool.
