Based on the old story of the Battle of Cheallaigh, the story is told of the king who, on his deathbed, ordered that he not be buried in the cemetery “but I shall be buried here on the side of the fort,” he said, “while I stand in the clay, my face to the north, and my red ray in my right hand.” It describes the curse of Ciaráin Chluain Mhic Nóis, the brutal murder of Bishop Cheallach, the pursuit and killing of the Four Flatheads, and the bloodbath at the wedding of Mhuirígh mac Eoghain. This and much more. The artwork was done by Alé Mercado.
