The World is in Our Hands is a fully illustrated children's book based on actual climate issues of the day and its purpose is to make children aware of the importance of climate change and the role they can play to help to prevent it. The book is a journey of 5 young friends around 12 years of age who are magically transported to the Arctic through a magic book on Walruses. They meet William the greatest walrus of all time and his family who asked Mother Nature to help them save their environment that is rapidly deteriorating and the families of walruses who are getting sicker with each passing year due to the changes in climate.The children meet Eada the 'Earth Fairy' who grants them one magical wish to help save the walruses and their home. The children are pressed for time and find that they do have the means and abiltiy to make the perfect wish. The children are granted their perfect wish and are returned home to Sligo to discover the impact of their fun and adventurous journey to the Arctic.
